Keeps

Bizmati Keep

The home of our heroes, an unassuming if rather well to do frontier keep on the eastern fringes of the kingdom, far from any true civilization aside from the handful of other keeps which inhabit the island.

Ruled by Lady Nunuk Bizmati, the head of the Bizmati family, the keep has done well, as it has under the past 2 generations of the Bizmati family. Though in he upcoming years it may soon be time for the younger Dakota to take over her mother’s mantle.

More curious than the otherwise bland and perhaps rather boring keep, is their latest addition, a strange creature by the name of Tom. By all accounts a potent fire mage, who has acquitted himself well in many battles already and earned the favor of the forest guardian.

Alas the inquisition seems to find it fit to ensure no more is learned of this mysterious creature. Only time will tell what comes of his shenanigans.

Hylsdal Keep

A keep laid to ruin by the forces of the dark not long ago, efforts to rebuild this once idyllic place are well underway, and word is that the line has survived. Truly a lucky turn, even if the young lord will face many perils in the months and years to come.

Vulcha Keep

A bustling middling keep employed with the supply of the Capital with all which they may require. Foods, furs, clothes or grains, there is a dragonette at Vulcha which can make it, and would be happy to sell it too you.

Alas all is not as it would seem at Vulcha. Quarters are tight and rations strict, there is only so much forest to hunt, and so many fields to till. Choked by their neighbors, their plans of expansion have come to naught and many of their number have left the keep, be it through necessity or to seek their fortunes. The famous racer, Silverstreak Rayland among them if the tales are to be believed.

Deriva Keep

A sturdy old keep which has stood for centuries. Life is said to move a little slower at Deriva, for what is there to do save get by? The sweet old Lady commands both the respect and admiration of her subjects, though not through valor or lineage, but rather compassion and camaraderie.

Some claim her softness will be their undoing, others that life is simply a little better when you take things one at a time.

Furlong Keep

A proud and ancient keep, which is now no more. Undone by the unrelenting nature of the Furlong line which ruled with an iron fist for centuries. Proud warriors and worshipers of Tula, they would never back away from a fight.

Alas their warrior spirit became their undoing, as riddled with debt and surrounded by darkness they went loudly into the night.

Cities

The Capital

The largest city in all the skies of Oka and the heart and home of of the kingdom which rules them. One of only two cities never once defeated in the long and storied history of the dragonettes, its defenses hardened and bolstered by countless years and battles, it stands as an impenetrable bastion of hope and light in the world.

Its streets are home to a diverse crowd of rich and poor alike. Opulent mansions and infested slums rub shoulders within the crowded walls.

At its center is the Royal Palace, sitting atop the great spire which looms over the city at large. The seat of power for the Crown and, by extension, the king or queen.

Bartelion

The south eastern most city of the kingdom and a famous trade hub for all manner of goods, believed by many to be one of the finest places to earn one’s fortune and exploit new found frontiers. If one has the nerve to do it.

The second so-called undefeated city, the palace at its center hides many secrets from the public eye. A favorite home of many an organization, be they savory or not, Bartelion provides respite from the most prying of eyes.

Carthehega

Also known as the reclaimed city, following another darkling war some 200 years ago where it was lost to the machinations of the dark gods and their followers.

It has since been brought back into the fold through great effort. Though tales of ghosts and strange sicknesses still plague the cold desolate lands which surround the accursed city.

Many do not dare tread the ground where once such evil had taken hold. But by order of the inquisition, such stories are nothing but folk tales.

Other Sites

Fort Jakova

A thick-walled fortress of stone and hatred, carved into the ice of the northern reaches, believed by many to be as far north as one would ever find dragonettes residing with any degree of permanence. A favorite site of the inquisition, and invaluable posting for the defense against the northern reaches.

Ylditz

A small mining town, specializing in the extraction of salt for use in all manner of cases, from bleach to food preservation. A small quiet town, built around the mineshafts which in the event they are needed may shield them all from the perils outside.
